We all know the benefits of exercising, healthy diet, physical activity and keeping our minds active. But everyone who have tried changing their habits know how difficult it could be. Sometimes there are no possibilities… Sometimes not enough willingness…
In order to help you, I want to share some tips, which are very simple and easy to follow and don’t need much effort.
Follow these tips for a few weeks and they insensibly will become your habits. Healthy habits!
1. Cold shower in the morning! Ok, too brave, lets start with lukewarm :)
Cold water increases blood circulation throughout the body. You will become more coldproof – that means,  you’ll have less chances to catch a cold or a flu. Moreover, it is good for your hair and skin – cold water closes pores, and makes skin more resilient.

2. Drink a glass of water in the morning, about a half an hour before breakfast. It will help you waken up your organism and prepare your stomach for food.

3. Walk by feet as much as possible. Start with longer walk with your dog, or just reject elevator, when you need to go only a few floors upper. Most of us have really passive lifestyles, so use every chance to be more physically active.
4. Get enough sleep . I think it is not necessary to explain the importance of the good sleep. We all know that sleep is one of the most important factors of our health – both physical and psychological.
5. Drink natural drinks such as water, green tea and fresh-squeezed juice. Carbonated drinks and juices from stores are often full of sugar , preservatives and have no nutritive value.

6. Have you ever noticed, that cats are stretching up after every nap? Incorporating morning stretches into your daily routine is a positive way to begin each day. Stretching in the morning is a great way to waken up your muscles, and get them ready for the day by increasing blood flow to your muscles. Moreover, researches have demonstrated that exercise increases mental acuity. On average it lasts four to ten hours after exercise!

7. Wash your hands regularly. During the day we are touching a lot of surfaces, things, other people and animals. Hand washing is a simple habit that can help you stay healthy and avoid infections, starting with simple ones like flu,  and  ending with such disgusting ones like warms..  Read more here.

8. Reject salty and fatty snacks. They are full of calories, fats, salt, preservatives and have low nutritive value. If you like eating while  watching TV, choose fruits or raw nuts instead.

9. Take time for food. When you have your dinner break go to a little cozy restaurant and order some well prepared warm food (not fast food of course). First of all, you will relax and have a rest while eating, second, eating slowly and calmly is healthy for your stomach as your body is able to absorb more nutrients.

10. Relax! Don’t get nervous and angry because of trivial things. Don’t be too serious. Smile, love others, and always try to see the bright side of life – your mental health is as important as your physical health.

Good luck!

Hand-washing is an easy way to prevent infection. Understand when to wash your hands, how to properly use hand sanitizer and how to get your children into the habit.

hand wash

Frequent hand-washing is one of the best ways to avoid getting sick and spreading illness. Hand-washing requires only soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer — a cleanser that doesn't require water. Find out when and how to wash your hands properly.

When to wash your hands

As you touch people, surfaces and objects throughout the day, you accumulate germs on your hands. In turn, you can infect yourself with these germs by touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Although it's impossible to keep your hands germ-free, washing your hands frequently can help limit the transfer of bacteria, viruses and other microbes.
Always wash your hands before:
  • Preparing food or eating
  • Treating wounds, giving medicine, or caring for a sick or injured person
  • Inserting or removing contact lenses
Always wash your hands after:
  • Preparing food, especially raw meat or poultry
  • Using the toilet or changing a diaper
  • Touching an animal or animal toys, leashes, or waste
  • Blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing into your hands
  • Treating wounds or caring for a sick or injured person
  • Handling garbage, household or garden chemicals, or anything that could be contaminated — such as a cleaning cloth or soiled shoes
In addition, wash your hands whenever they look dirty.

How to wash your hands

It's generally best to wash your hands with soap and water. Follow these simple steps:
  • Wet your hands with running water.
  • Apply liquid, bar or powder soap.
  • Lather well.
  • Rub your hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds. Remember to scrub all surfaces, including the backs of your hands, wrists, between your fingers and under your fingernails.
  • Rinse well.
  • Dry your hands with a clean or disposable towel or air dryer.
  • If possible, use your towel to turn off the faucet.
Keep in mind that antibacterial soap is no more effective at killing germs than is regular soap. Using antibacterial soap may even lead to the development of bacteria that are resistant to the product's antimicrobial agents — making it harder to kill these germs in the future.

How to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer

Alcohol-based hand sanitizers, which don't require water, are an acceptable alternative when soap and water aren't available. If you choose to use a hand sanitizer, make sure the product contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Then follow these simple steps:
  • Apply enough of the product to the palm of your hand to wet your hands completely.
  • Rub your hands together, covering all surfaces, until your hands are dry.
Antimicrobial wipes or towelettes are another effective option. Again, look for a product that contains a high percentage of alcohol. If your hands are visibly dirty, wash with soap and water.

Kids need clean hands, too

Help children stay healthy by encouraging them to wash their hands properly and frequently. Wash your hands with your child to show him or her how it's done. To prevent rushing, suggest washing hands for as long as it takes to sing the "Happy Birthday" song twice. You might place hand-washing reminders at your child's eye level, such as a chart by the bathroom sink that can be marked every time your child washes his or her hands. If your child can't reach the sink on his or her own, keep a step stool handy.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are OK for children and adolescents, too, especially when soap and water aren't available. Remind your child to make sure the sanitizer completely dries before he or she touches anything. Store the container safely away after use.
Hand-washing is especially important for children in child care settings. Young children cared for in groups outside the home are at greater risk of respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, which can easily spread to family members and other contacts. Be sure your child care provider promotes frequent hand-washing or use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Ask whether the children are required to wash their hands several times a day — not just before meals. Note, too, whether diapering areas are cleaned after each use and whether eating and diapering areas are well separated.

A simple way to stay healthy

Hand-washing doesn't take much time or effort, but it offers great rewards in terms of preventing illness. Adopting this simple habit can play a major role in protecting your health.

When you’ve got a boyfriend, Valentine’s Day should be a holiday to spread love, exchange candy hearts, and a good excuse to watch chick flicks. But according to a recent Facebook study, the days and weeks leading up to V-day is actually a common time for break-ups to occur. Yikes! So what’s the deal? Well, Life2PointOh talked to Jane Atkinson, author of The Frog Whisperer: A 3-Step Approach to Finding Lasting Love, to get the deets. “There’s nothing like Valentine’s Day to push a relationship to the brink,” Atkinson explains. “While it’s not the end of the world–getting dumped–being prepared can help save you some time and heartache.” Below, Atkinson shares seven signs to see if your guy is thinking about doing the dreaded dumping deed.
1. “He calls less. Normally he calls when he says he’s going to, but all of a sudden, he’s gotten more flaky. And calls are getting far less frequent.”
2. “He’s breaking dates. It’s normal for stuff to come up and people need to break a date. But when he’s blowing you off with more frequency, it’s time to take notice.”
3. “He texts you less. In the beginning you’d text each other several times a day, but lately your phone is eerily quiet.”
4. “He looks at you differently. I remember near the end of a 4-year relationship, my boyfriend didn’t look at me with the same adoring eyes as he once did. I ended the relationship when he decided to purchase a house without factoring me in! (Say what?!)”
5. “He’s non-committal. If the relationship isn’t moving forward, it may be a sign it’s coming to an end. If you’ve been dating for years and haven’t talked about shacking up or marriage, it may be stalled out.”
6. “He’s excluding you from plans. If you see him making plans that don’t include you, big life plans (like buying a house!) or small ones (like dinner plans with friends), you may be single again soon.”
7. “He sleeps over less. When you are growing apart, sex is often the first casualty. Relationships often slow down in the bedroom over time, so there’s not always a need for concern. But coupled with the other signs, it might mean you are headed for Splitsville.”
But these signs do come with a warning to not turn instantly paranoid and start over-analyzing your relationship. “When you see these signs, it doesn’t mean you should resort to grovelling or clinginess–that will only speed up your demise,” she says. “If you don’t want to confront the situation, the best advice I can give you is to turn your attention inward and focus on feeling happy and fabulous. When he sees that you have a full life without him, it may just bring him around. And if not, there’s plenty more where he came from. Next!”
Since breakups can totally blow (especially when you thought Cupid was on your side), Atkinson does have tips on how to survive. “Focus on asking yourself the right questions,” she advises. “Rather than saying, ‘Why didn’t he love me?’, ask yourself, ‘What’s next for me? How can I make myself happy right now? How will I attract someone who is perfect for me next time?’ Sinking into victim mode will only make the process feel longer. The faster we work on healing and feeling great, the better!”

Did you know that heart disease is the number one killerd ? Scary! Turns out, February is Heart Healthy Month, so we’re leaving the love month with tasty ways you can keep that heart of yours pumping longer!
1. Oatmeal contains a certain element of fiber called beta-glucan, which has been shown to reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol. It also contains a special antioxidant called avenanthramides, which prevents free radicals from attacking good cholesterol and helps reduce the risk of heart disease. Oatmeal also helps keep your arteries clear and contains calcium, omega-3’s and fiber, which have been proven to stabilize blood sugar. Just skip the instant oats, since they’re loaded with hidden sugars and sodium!
2. Salmon is the premiere source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are healthy fats that the human body cannot produce on its own. Omega-3’s are known to minimize symptoms of inflammatory diseases and reduce blood pressure. Salmon is very high in protein, low in cholesterol and also contains astaxanthin, a very powerful antioxidant that’s converted to vitamin A in the body.
3. Avocados contain oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that may help lower bad cholesterol. They’re high in potassium, which can help ward off high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. They also contain a heart healthy fat that contains lycopene, a potential cancer-fighting agent.
4. Olive Oil oil is full of monounsaturated fats, which can help lower your risk of heart disease and help normalize blood clotting. The antioxidants found in olive oil can also help protect against some cancers while boosting your HDL (good) cholesterol.
5. Nuts, like almonds and walnuts, are full of monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats, a fat that’s mostly found in plant based foods and oils. They are also full of protein and omega-3’s, which are great for the heart. About a handful a day is enough to do the trick.

6. Berries
are full of powerful antioxidants called polyphenols, which have been known to lower the risk of heart disease. Studies have shown that eating a moderate amount of berries may increase HDL (good) cholesterol and reduce blood pressure. They’re also rich in disease fighting phytochemicals that can help prevent heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
7. Legumes, or beans, are incredibly low in fat and contain no saturated fat or cholesterol. Beans are a high plant based protein that also have fiber, iron, folic acid and the heart healthy omega-3’s. Red and black beans also contain eight types of flavanoids, which reduces the risk of a stroke.
8. Spinach is an antioxidant rich super food that’s high in vitamins A, C and K, all of which are good for your bones and heart. It has been shown to lower the risk of some cancers while also being incredibly rich in fiber and folate, a water soluble B vitamin that’s important for building and maintaining healthy cells.
9. Soy is a nutrient dense, heart healthy food. It contains B-vitamins, unsaturated fats, calcium, zinc and fiber. It’s cholesterol free and a healthier, leaner protein, compared to meat. Soy is a complete protein, meaning it contains all of the essential amino acids that the body cannot produce. Studies have shown that soy protein could lower LDL (bad) cholesterol, which can help prevent heart disease.
10.  Tomatoes are packed with vitamins and lycopene, which has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease. When lycopene is combined with other antioxidants found in tomatoes, such as beta-carotene or vitamin c, the body works to neutralize free radicals that could damage cells. Studies have shown that tomato products prevent the oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Experts agree the key to healthy eating is the time-tested advice of balance, variety and moderation. In short, that means eating a wide variety of foods without getting too many calories or too much of any one nutrient. These 10 tips can help you follow that advice while still enjoying the foods you eat.
  1. Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods. You need more than 40 different nutrients for good health, and no single food supplies them all. Your daily food selection should include bread and other whole-grain products; fruits; vegetables; dairy products; and meat, poultry, fish and other protein foods. How much you should eat depends on your calorie needs. Use the Food Guide Pyramid and the Nutrition Facts panel on food labels as handy references.
  2. Enjoy plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Surveys show most Americans don't eat enough of these foods. Do you eat 6-11 servings from the bread, rice, cereal and pasta group, 3 of which should be whole grains? Do you eat 2-4 servings of fruit and 3-5 servings of vegetables? If you don't enjoy some of these at first, give them another chance. Look through cookbooks for tasty ways to prepare unfamiliar foods.
  3. Maintain a healthy weight. The weight that's right for you depends on many factors including your sex, height, age and heredity. Excess body fat increases your chances for high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, some types of cancer and other illnesses. But being too thin can increase your risk for osteoporosis, menstrual irregularities and other health problems. If you're constantly losing and regaining weight, a registered dietitian can help you develop sensible eating habits for successful weight management. Regular exercise is also important to maintaining a healthy weight.
  4. Eat moderate portions. If you keep portion sizes reasonable, it's easier to eat the foods you want and stay healthy. Did you know the recommended serving of cooked meat is 3 ounces, similar in size to a deck of playing cards? A medium piece of fruit is 1 serving and a cup of pasta equals 2 servings. A pint of ice cream contains 4 servings. Refer to the Food Guide Pyramid for information on recommended serving sizes.
  5. Eat regular meals. Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in overeating. When you're very hungry, it's also tempting to forget about good nutrition. Snacking between meals can help curb hunger, but don't eat so much that your snack becomes an entire meal.
  6. Reduce, don't eliminate certain foods. Most people eat for pleasure as well as nutrition. If your favorite foods are high in fat, salt or sugar, the key is moderating how much of these foods you eat and how often you eat them.
Identify major sources of these ingredients in your diet and make changes, if necessary. Adults who eat high-fat meats or whole-milk dairy products at every meal are probably eating too much fat. Use the Nutrition Facts panel on the food label to help balance your choices.
Choosing skim or low-fat dairy products and lean cuts of meat such as flank steak and beef round can reduce fat intake significantly.
If you love fried chicken, however, you don't have to give it up. Just eat it less often. When dining out, share it with a friend, ask for a take-home bag or a smaller portion.
  7. Balance your food choices over time. Not every food has to be "perfect." When eating a food high in fat, salt or sugar, select other foods that are low in these ingredients. If you miss out on any food group one day, make up for it the next. Your food choices over several days should fit together into a healthy pattern.
  8. Know your diet pitfalls. To improve your eating habits, you first have to know what's wrong with them. Write down everything you eat for three days. Then check your list according to the rest of these tips. Do you add a lot of butter, creamy sauces or salad dressings? Rather than eliminating these foods, just cut back your portions. Are you getting enough fruits and vegetables? If not, you may be missing out on vital nutrients.
  9. Make changes gradually. Just as there are no "superfoods" or easy answers to a healthy diet, don't expect to totally revamp your eating habits overnight. Changing too much, too fast can get in the way of success. Begin to remedy excesses or deficiencies with modest changes that can add up to positive, lifelong eating habits. For instance, if you don't like the taste of skim milk, try low-fat. Eventually you may find you like skim, too.
  10. Remember, foods are not good or bad. Select foods based on your total eating patterns, not whether any individual food is "good" or "bad." Don't feel guilty if you love foods such as apple pie, potato chips, candy bars or ice cream. Eat them in moderation, and choose other foods to provide the balance and variety that are vital to good health.

Cheated in love, get over cheated relationship, get over cheated, get over cheated on, get over cheating, get over him, get over herYou are head over heels in love with your significant other and to your utter dismay you find out that your love has stealthily strayed into the arms of another behind your back! It is no surprise that you will feel betrayed beyond belief and you are most likely to do everything in your power to dismantle the relationship. You might even feel like restraining from doing something that would wind you up in jail or appear in the most-wanted list of the law. To avoid such a brutal fate and to handle the difficult situation to the best of your abilities and rationality, be sure to check out the following ways to get over and get healed when cheated in love.

Cheated in love, get over cheated relationship, get over cheated, get over cheated on, get over cheating, get over him, get over her1. Absorb the Initial Shock: When you suddenly discover your partner’s infidelity, you are most likely to feel completely lost, disoriented, crushed and overwhelmed with a fit of emotions ranging from pain, anger, jealousy, frustration, depression, anxiety and mistrust towards your cheating spouse. It is normal to feel this way, however try not to act out on such intense feelings. Take the time to cool down and absorb the initial shock. Get your mind right before you say or do something that you might regret later.  Talk to a close friend, go for a walk or just move out to clear your mind and think about how you are going to confront the situation and your partner.

Don’t Take the Blame: The general human behaviour when cheated on is to feel rejected, believe that you aren’t good enough for your spouse, and start taking the blame to yourself.  You start looking back on what you could’ve done differently and how you could’ve kept your better half from wandering away. But what you need to actually realize is that you are not at fault.  Irrespective of what you did or didn’t do, there is nothing that can warranty a cheating.  So instead of blaming and cursing yourself, pick up your self-esteem and point your finger in the direction of the person who broke your trust.

Talk to Your Partner:  Once the smoke is clear and you’ve cleared your mind and organized your thoughts, find an appropriate time to sit and discuss the situation in a mature manner. It might be difficult to listen to the facts and hence try your best to keep calm so that you can rationally communicate your feelings, concerns and fears. You can then possibly decide on the best route to be taken to move forward.  If you are about to confront the cheater be sure of the accusations and hold your ground firm as he or she might be in denial, try to lie or even try to blame you for the fault.

Move On:  Harsh as it may sound, but some people tend to change over the period and cheat in a relationship. But it is up to you to decide if to forgive them when they promise that cheating will never happen again or simply move out of the relationship with the hurt. Once a partner in a relationship cheats, all trust, honesty and the hope for a healthy relationship are out the window. It becomes tough to repair the foundation of a relationship and you start questioning every little thing your partner does and most often, you won’t be able to trust them the same way. It is silly to harm yourself and rather sane to move on to someone who will treat you better and won’t put you through such heartache. No matter how much you love the person, when it comes down to cheating there is no excuse to it!

Equally effective like the words you say, your physical expressions speak about enough of your thoughts. To make a date an enjoyable and successful affair, you should keep note of things that determine a proper body language. Dates are meant to know whether or not you and the woman you’ve asked out are in sync with each other. While you might pay particular attention to what you say, to how you clean yourself up and to any sparks that fly over the dinner table, make sure to avoid falling into the trap of letting your body language mess things up for you. Here are few date body-language tips for you to consider.

A date who’s sitting up looks attentive to the beholder. You should show yourself open minded and willing to keep the other person interested. Lean forward as they recount an old memory and show your involvement. If you’re women, cross your legs towards, rather than away from, your date, as this subconsciously creates a smaller and more intimate space between you.

Try to keep your hands visible and your gesture open while the other person is talking. Let your limbs show the emotion. However when it’s your turn to speak, do not gesticulate too much, as this will make you appear dramatic. If you want to use your hands to highlight a point, lift your palms upwards to indicate yourself to be upright in your point and put your palms downwards to enforce gravitas in what you say.

Facial Expressions: Face is the mirror of your thoughts going around in your mind and heart. A face is the most important part of your body when it comes to communicating. Faces constantly reveal your innermost true emotions in the form of micro-expressions, which are general and obvious to appear despite your age, nationality or culture. These expressions might last for a second but leave a deep impact. Avoid making faces or frowning at things you might differ in opinion. This might hurt the other person in the course.

While speaking, make sure to look straight into the eyes to emphasize your opinions. Looking down or here-and-there is a sign of distraction or insecurity.

Quick Reflexes: Do you ever realize that your body mirrors your internal emotional directly? If you’re feeling a bit panicky and jumpy about the date, it will significantly reflect in your body language, such as make fast and jittery movements while talking, spilling drinks, chocking food. These body-language mistakes tell the other one that you’re nervous and maybe even insecure. Try to make an impression that you’re calm, collected and confident. This can be done by slowing down the movements and avoid being a mess!

Too Much Speaking: Facing each other on an exclusive date creates the consciousness of being on the same wavelength. Pay attention not only to your body movements but also to how your speech patterns are going. If she speaks really fast and you’re need to match up with intent listening or else it throws you out of sync. Try to match the pace, as this will make your conversation free-flow. Although you can’t please someone to perfection in a jiffy you can definitely enhance it by trying to get on their wavelength.

Touching: It might so happen that you’ve been laughing and giving each other a lot of flirtatious looks, but you can’t be sure enough to reach over and touch her. Stop! You might be coming on a little too early on expressing your inner desires and he/she would assume that you’re only interested to go for the next level. The only time to touch or make a body contact is when the other one has touched you first, like a pat or brush on your arm during a joke. In that case, he/she is giving you the go-ahead and hoping you to reflect the actions.
